Our Montessori Way Of Life
Our Montessori way of life is at the heart of everything we do. We support our residents to be as independent as possible and look for ways to ensure a person can do something using positive risk-taking.
We focus on a residents’ strengths and abilities, their life story and experiences and use these to help them find purpose and feel valued in their day to day life with us. We encourage residents to partake in meaningful roles, such as helping with household chores, and activities that they enjoy which may trigger fond memories and engage their senses, including doing art, doing a puzzle, playing a game, chair based exercising, baking a cake or writing a letter. All of these pleasurable hobbies boost confidence and self-esteem and will be designed to match the person’s abilities.

Meet Your Care Home Manager

Pete Ansell
Home Manager
I kicked off my NHS journey in 2012 as a receptionist, but it wasn’t long before I switched to a hands-on care role. After three years of uni, I qualified as a mental health nurse in 2018. From there, I worked on elderly care units, helping patients over 65 with dementia and mental health challenges. Eventually, I became the clinical lead for the largest acute dementia ward in Nottinghamshire, focusing on delivering care that really honored each person’s unique story.
Then came Covid, and I was the first nurse deployed to the ward, leading the charge in nursing care during the outbreak. After that whirlwind, I managed my own dementia ward before stepping into the private sector as a junior matron and then a registered manager.
Now, after almost six years as a qualified RMN, I still feel lucky to do what I do. My goal has always been to make sure the people I care for (and the staff I support!) feel safe, empowered, and in control of their lives. It’s all about celebrating their stories and experiences every single day.
