Testimonials
We understand that it is a big decision to place a loved one in a care home, and that’s why we want to make the decision easier for you.
That is why we have asked residents, relatives and professionals to share their views and experiences of Milford Care. We aim to give you a real insight into how Milford Care operates and how we can improve and empower the lives of the older generation.
Don’t just take our word for it. See what our residents, their relatives and staff have to say about us.
“I am impressed by how Lynne represented the needs of her resident and how she clarified any information given as part of our review. Lynne made sure that the MDT got the correct information, with dates for treatments plus updates on prescriptions. Without meeting Lynne, I got the impression of a confident and caring team leader who is a credit to your care home. She presents herself as kind, patient, organised and considerate when talking about the resident we were assessing. Lynne’s kindness is evident by her tone of voice and her respectful descriptions of the person she cares for and for the staff she manages. I hope this compliment illustrates Lynne’s professionalism and her positive contribution to the lives of the people she meets at work.” Neil O’Higgins, Nurse Practitioner for The Meadows May 2021
“You are more than welcome. I hope it comes in useful and helps to make you feel safer in the great work that you are doing. Nothing but admiration for you all. I have got the easy bit in making these.” Paul Josse, Brunel University for The Meadows April 2020
“I am constantly amazed and impressed by all the activities that you do, and how much effort you make in creating a stimulating environment for your residents. I’ve been a nurse for many years and I’ve never come across a care home that comes even close to yours. I’m so glad that if my Aunty Val does need care, she is with you. Huge thanks to you all for being so amazing” Facebook comment for Ashbourne Lodge March 2022
“I am very impressed by the way MC are handling the current Covid 19 situation. The way MC are assisting us with communication with Mum is great. You have made it very easy for us to speak via telephone. The offer of a video call on Mum’s Birthday and other occasions is also very much appreciated.
Please give my thanks again to two of your young staff, Kirsty and Fran who conveyed Mum to the door so we could wave and have a brief chat. Most impressed by their considerations and awareness of social distancing. Also very impressed that any item entering Milford Care is carefully wiped with appropriate material, clearly clinical cleanliness is high priority for all of the staff.
Sincere appreciation for the Milford Care team at all levels. I can honestly say we could not have greater confidence in the care you continue to give.” Former-Belper Mayor, Gary Spendlove for Milford House April 2020
“I’d just to send a message to say how utterly amazing you have all been – the true heroes of this awful pandemic – you have demonstrated bravery and compassion in equal measures – well done to each and everyone of you – you should all be amazingly proud – your residents are truly blessed x Thank you xx” Visiting professional, Vicky Jenson of Riversdale Surgery, for Milford House May 2020
“Dear Jim,
As I am sure you know my mother, Joan Stanton, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon. I am acutely aware how awful it must be for all the staff at present losing people they have cared for and who have become the resident’s family – you are an amazing group of people. I would especially like to say an enormous thank you to all the staff for the care they have shown my mum over the years and particularly recently. They have all gone beyond what is necessary and, although my husband and I are in social isolation, they have put themselves out to unimaginable levels to help us cope with what became inevitable.
I would especially like to thank Annie and all the nurses, and Rach and all the care staff for their extraordinarily generous way of dealing with my mum and me. And of course all the other staff – cleaners, chefs, etc etc. For once in my life, words fail me. When this is all over I shall look forward coming in and thanking you all personally and celebrating its end… in the meantime my thoughts and prayers are with you all. You are an amazing bunch of people and I am fully in awe of you. As ever much love Jean xx” Jean Stanton, for Ashbourne Lodge April 2020

“Hello, Thank you for your email. I’d like to take this opportunity to say I have nothing but praise for the excellent, consistent and caring environment that my mum Mary Henderson is lucky enough to have. The visiting is limiting but we’re not used to anything else. It’s great that I can see Mum and I appreciate the logistic challenge this must pose to you all every day. Thank you to all the fantastic staff that I’ve had the pleasure to meet and speak to during mums stay since May this year.” Email response, for Milford House Nov 2021
