Respite Care Services
If you’re a full time carer or the one receiving care, it’s important to take a refreshing break from time to time. Respite care can be used as an interval from everyday life or as part of recovery after an illness, surgery or accident. It’s especially useful for a bit of extra, specialised support. If you’re in need of rejuvenation, one way is to take respite care at Milford Care.
At our care homes, our respite breaks ensure high quality care with our dedicated teams for as much or as little time as desired. Respite care in a residential care home or nursing care home can also be a valuable break for older people too – it’s a chance to interact with others, experience new cuisines, get involved with lots of activities and get the attention needed to feel home-from-home.
Our respite care services can be planned or unplanned, depending on your circumstances and we have been known to support residents at a moments notice! Our staff pride themselves on caring for your loved ones as if they were family, so you can be completely at ease whilst recharging your own batteries.
With each of our respite breaks, you will receive care around the clock as well as a fully furnished bedroom, all meals and activities. Our catering team provide home-cooked meals, including in-house baked cakes for afternoon tea, and all activities will be run by our Activities Coordinators. Activities vary from balloon badminton to jam-tart making to singalongs to flower arranging. Care homes often have planned activity programmes, a ‘one size fits all approach’. At our care homes, we focus on supporting your loved one to engage in activities that are meaningful to them, whether that’s for pleasure, fun or to feel useful.
