Ashbourne Lodge

Ashbourne, Derbyshire

Ashbourne Lodge delivers first class care in beautiful “boutique-hotel” style surroundings

It’s no wonder it was awarded “Most Outstanding Care Home Plan” at the Over 50s Housing Awards, and was shortlisted for a Pinders Design Award upon its opening in 2014.

Since then, Ashbourne Lodge has established itself within its local community of Ashbourne and neighbouring villages, and has attained a number of innovative and efficient home units other accolades including the Derbyshire Quality End of Life Award, Amber Valley Trusted Trader status and individual team members have received regional and national recognition at the Great British Care Awards.

Ashbourne Lodge is also working in partnership with Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire University Hospitals to assist in studies thus allowing residents to benefit from the newest innovations and improvements in elderly care.

Ashbourne Lodge’s state-of-the-art facilities include:

Our Montessori Way Of Life

Our Montessori way of life is at the heart of everything we do. We support our residents to be as independent as possible and look for ways to ensure a person can do something using positive risk-taking.

We focus on a residents’ strengths and abilities, their life story and experiences and use these to help them find purpose and feel valued in their day to day life with us. We encourage residents to partake in meaningful roles, such as helping with household chores, and activities that the enjoy which may trigger fond memories and engage their senses, including doing art, doing a puzzle, playing a game, chair based exercising, baking a cake or writing a letter. All of these pleasurable hobbies boost confidence and self-esteem and will be designed to match the person’s abilities.

Meet Your Care Home Manager

Jim Watt

Home Manager

I started with Milford Care in April 2011 as a Care Assistant and then worked hard to progress within the company to reach my current role of Home Manager at Ashbourne Lodge, a position I have held since the Home opened in 2014. I find my job so rewarding and would not change it for the world as here at Ashbourne Lodge my team and I strive to make a difference to everyone who comes to stay with us. It is my passion to give good quality person-centred care, and this is an ethos which is embedded through the entire team at Ashbourne Lodge.
