Residential Care
Residential care homes are homes that offer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week care and support, especially to those who have difficulty living independently.
Moving into a care home, especially with the view to long term care, can feel like a daunting decision, so at Milford Care, we want to ease the decision process by offering extra support at every step.
Some see moving into a care home as leaving a life behind. At Milford Care we think it’s about adapting to a new chapter – and one we like to make as fun and independent as possible! We’ve always believed in creating an environment enriched with encouragement and independence. All of our homes make meaningful activity an essential part of caring so residents can live exactly the way they want everyday.
Our residents are free to spend their time the way they wish, whether that’s doing a favourite pastime or wandering the gardens. They can also choose to get stuck into our daily activities ran by our Activities Coordinators. The homes host daily activities which ranges from musical bingo to balloon badminton to baking cakes.
Care homes often have planned activity programmes, a ‘one size fits all approach’. At our care homes, we focus on supporting your loved one to engage in activities that are meaningful to them, whether that’s for pleasure, fun or to feel useful.
Our teams offer so more than just activities and care though – they also pride themselves on becoming companions to our residents, creating close bonds and becoming a real family – that’s what makes Milford Care a cut above the rest.
With family life in mind, we pride ourselves on having a relaxing atmosphere, complete with cosy armchairs, comfortable living areas and personalised bedrooms in all of our residential care homes.
As well as designing a cosy living space, we like to get to know our residents as best as possible by creating a care plan, not just for their health and wellbeing but as a way of getting to know residents on an emotional level too.
In all of our homes our catering teams prepare a variety of home-cooked meals which are changed seasonally. Our chefs shape the menus with the involvement of residents to include traditional classics and new surprises to suit the tastes and nutritional needs of each of our residents in every home. We also host wonderful themed nights which range from curry nights to Italian feasts. The possibilities are endless. Read more about our Food and Nutrition here.
