Our Montessori Way Of Life
Our Montessori way of life is at the heart of everything we do. We support our residents to be as independent as possible and look for ways to ensure a person can do something using positive risk-taking.
We focus on a residentsโ strengths and abilities, their life story and experiences and use these to help them find purpose and feel valued in their day to day life with us. We encourage residents to partake in meaningful roles, such as helping with household chores, and activities that they enjoy which may trigger fond memories and engage their senses, including doing art, doing a puzzle, playing a game, chair based exercising, baking a cake or writing a letter. All of these pleasurable hobbies boost confidence and self-esteem and will be designed to match the personโs abilities.

Home Manager
I’ve been working in care since 2018, starting part-time at Skylarks Church Farm Nursing Home while studying Law at Nottingham Trent University. What began as a weekend job soon grew into a passion, inspired by the time I spent caring for my late grandma, who was a dialysis patient.
Over the years, I’ve taken on various roles, including care coordinator, senior care leader, and even acting deputy manager. Each experience has shaped me and strengthened my love for supporting others. In March 2024, I joined Milford Care as Deputy Manager at Buddleia House, and now I’m the Care Home Manager. I’ve loved every moment of working with such a fantastic team.
Family means everything to me โ I’m lucky to have two older sisters and three younger brothers who keep life full of laughter. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, shopping, listening to music, and planning events or home projects. I’m also a big football fan and have supported Ronaldo since I was a child.

It was cold wet and rainy today so no better time for our regular weekly book club and Movie afternoon.
This weeks books was Saturday night at the movies. Reading the book prompted discussions on the local cinemas we went to as Children. The 'tanner rush' and enjoying time out with our friends.
Book club was followed this afternoon by Hocus Pocus a film we alIt was cold wet and dl#buddleiahousefamilyousefamily
Our Tiffany and Co themed day was a real hit with our residents from Pearl's to Caviar and an extra special lunch menu we enjoyed every minute.
