Buddleia House is so much more than your typical care home. Endeavouring to cater to all the senses that just can’t be understood until you walk through the doors of our home. We’ve also just been awarded our Band 5 Quality Score from Nottinghamshire County Council.Â
Residents can enjoy and engage in daily living, whatever their ability or condition. Our community has an indoor garden area, a pub, library area, a pantry, sweet shop, creative art and music areas, and lots of other engaging facilities both indoors and outdoors from raised garden beds to a beer garden. But I can see after today it’s a great way to help people live life the way they think they should. Our Montessori Way Of Life
Our Montessori way of life is at the heart of everything we do. We support our residents to be as independent as possible and look for ways to ensure a person can do something using positive risk-taking.
We focus on a residents’ strengths and abilities, their life story and experiences and use these to help them find purpose and feel valued in their day to day life with us. We encourage residents to partake in meaningful roles, such as helping with household chores, and activities that they enjoy which may trigger fond memories and engage their senses, including doing art, doing a puzzle, playing a game, chair based exercising, baking a cake or writing a letter. All of these pleasurable hobbies boost confidence and self-esteem and will be designed to match the person’s abilities.

Home Manager
I’ve been working in care since 2018, starting part-time at Skylarks Church Farm Nursing Home while studying Law at Nottingham Trent University. What began as a weekend job soon grew into a passion, inspired by the time I spent caring for my late grandma, who was a dialysis patient.
Over the years, I’ve taken on various roles, including care coordinator, senior care leader, and even acting deputy manager. Each experience has shaped me and strengthened my love for supporting others. In March 2024, I joined Milford Care as Deputy Manager at Buddleia House, and now I’m the Care Home Manager. I’ve loved every moment of working with such a fantastic team.
Family means everything to me — I’m lucky to have two older sisters and three younger brothers who keep life full of laughter. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with loved ones, shopping, listening to music, and planning events or home projects. I’m also a big football fan and have supported Ronaldo since I was a child.

What a wonderful afternoon we had at our book club — with a fabulous movie-themed twist! 🎬🍦
We sipped on delicious milkshakes — creamy, dreamy, and totally delicious — while getting cosy with our favourite books and each other. There were smiles, laughs, and plenty of lovely chatter as we all enjoyed our tasty treats together. 🥰
It’s just the loveliest way to spend time with friends — good company, great stories, and those amazing milkshakes! 🥤💛

🎶 Matt Sang the First Dance — It Was Perfect! 🎶
How absolutely special was that?! 🥹✨ Our wonderful Matt stepped up to sing for Sam and Luke’s first dance — and it could not have been any more perfect! 💍💕
His beautiful voice filled the room, and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house as the happy couple danced together while Matt sang his heart out. 🎤🥰 It made such a magical moment even more unforgettable — truly something we’ll all remember forever.
