It’s been smiles all round for the green-fingered residents at Buddleia House care home. The elderly residents at the award-winning home have been partaking in the sowing, growing and picking of vegetables in the garden in order to celebrate harvest season. 

Buddleia House is carefully designed to assist those with dementia in a supportive environment. The home’s raised planter beds, potting shed, allotment, green house and sensory garden are perfect for those who are or have been, keen gardeners.

Milford Care have six care homes across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, including Buddleia House. Their ethos is to always encourage residents to play a part in the running of the home by identifying the individual’s strengths and helping them realise the things that make them most happy. 

They use a method called Montessori, which offers surroundings specifically designed to encourage engagement and purpose for its residents. The person-centred care has seen success in Australia and Canada and allows residents to live as independently as possible and have a place in their community to thrive.

All six of the Milford Care homes are rated Outstanding or Good from the Care Quality Commission.
