Offering nursing care at Rose Court and residential care at Lavender Court, The Meadows has a wonderful homely environment and is perfectly located for access to the local shops and amenities, with excellent public transport links.
The Meadows has achieved the Derbyshire Dementia Standards Award, which recognises the philosophy of the home to deliver “person-centred” care, delivered by well-trained and supported staff with the aim of ‘bringing out the best in everybody’.
Facilities at The Meadows include:

- Large and accessible landscaped gardens
- Reminiscence lounge
- Variety of single and companion bedrooms, some with en-suite facilities

Our Montessori Way Of Life
Our Montessori way of life is at the heart of everything we do. We support our residents to be as independent as possible and look for ways to ensure a person can do something using positive risk-taking.
We focus on a residents’ strengths and abilities, their life story and experiences and use these to help them find purpose and feel valued in their day to day life with us. We encourage residents to partake in meaningful roles, such as helping with household chores, and activities that they enjoy which may trigger fond memories and engage their senses, including doing art, doing a puzzle, playing a game, chair based exercising, baking a cake or writing a letter. All of these pleasurable hobbies boost confidence and self-esteem and will be designed to match the person’s abilities.

I began my caring career at 19 years old as a care assistant and worked my way up to being a Home Manager over a decade ago. When I found Milford Care in 2023, it was like coming home.
Our ethos and values are so unique, and our passion for what we do makes Milford Care a very special place to be a part of. I love that every day is different at the Meadows, there is a diverse and unique community of people here, and I love to celebrate that.
I thrive in a busy environment with lots to do, and The Meadows is just that! I love to bring positivity and laughter to our home.
Outside of work, I love to keep busy, spending time with my family and singing in a choir based in Belper.

What a lovely afternoon we had at Rose Court! 💕✨
Our residents enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea, with fabulous food prepared by our wonderful kitchen team. 🍰🥪
We were also entertained by the fantastic Richie Lee, who had our residents singing along, joining in and having lots of fun! 🎶🎤 There were plenty of smiles and laughter throughout the afternoon.
A wonderful afternoon filled with good food, great music and lovely company. ❤️🌸
