Milford House care home receives Silver Strictly No Falls Award

A care home in Belper has been awarded the Silver Strictly No Falls Award in Derbyshire after being praised by their Care Home Falls Advisor. 

As part of their strategy to enhance quality of life for older people, Milford House care home, which belongs to the Milford Care group, have pursued an initiative to implement more exercise and mobility activities. 

The “Strictly No Falling” service is delivered by Age UK to bring together social care organisations that aim to reduce falls in older people.

The service provides many benefits for residents in care homes, including improved physical ability, reduced risk of hip fractures and more independence and quality of life.

Milford House is one of the first care homes in the UK to adopt the Montessori approach to care, which has proven to be very successful in Australia and Canada.
