Milford House staff are celebrating their 8 finalists at the Great British Care Awards.

Milford Care’s Milford House on Derby Road, Belper, has been recognised for its person-centred approach and commitment to care to meet the needs of its residents.

The judges at the Great British Care Awards 2021 announced the home having six finalists in seven categories for the East Midlands. Registered Home Manager, Sheila Barwick for The Putting People First/Personalisation Award, Joanne Treece for The Palliative Care and Frontline Leaders Award, Betty Hallsworth for the Dementia Carer Award, Gill Roberts for the Care Home Cook Award, Joy Saint for the Social Care Nurse Award, and Kirsty Swift for the Dementia Carer Award and Dignity in Care Award.

The care home also received three highly commended awards for Gill Roberts, Kirsty Swift and Sheila Barwick.

Milford House is a Grade II listed Georgian manor and has recently benefited from a chic new refurbishment. The home is recognised for a long list of awards including a recent accolade, the Derbyshire End of Life Quality Award. It also boasts an impressive 9.8 out of 10 rating on independent review website, carehome.co.uk.

Sheila Barwick, Registered Home Manager of Milford House has described the home’s triumph as “a huge moment of pride for the team.”
