Ashbourne Lodge care home win regional award

A care home in Ashbourne has won a regional award in the Great British Care Awards.

A staff member at Ashbourne Lodge care home on Derby Road, Ashbourne has become a winner in The Dignity in Care category. Lemmy Nolan received an award for her first-class support and respect to residents in the home.

As well as this, Registered Home Manager, Jim Watt, was a finalist in The Social Care Covid Hero Award category, for his dedication to ensuring safety measures were carried out and staff and residents were protected during covid-19.

Ashbourne Lodge is an Outstanding rated care home (CQC) situated in the heart of beautiful Ashbourne. The home is recognised for a long list of awards including Derbyshire Quality End of Life Award, Amber Valley Trusted Trader status and The Dignity Award from Derbyshire County Council. It also has a 9.8 out of 10 rating on independent review website, carehome.co.uk.

Jim Watt, Registered Home Manager of Ashbourne Lodge has described the home’s awards as “a brilliant effort from the whole team.”

Jim said: “I feel so fortunate to be at the helm of Ashbourne Lodge and to have such a fantastic team to work alongside. They always ensure the residents are content and enjoying themselves with meaningful activities. We always encourage independence where possible, and the staff are brilliant at encouraging the residents to pursue the hobbies they enjoy.
