Milford House
Milford, Derbyshire
Recently refurbished, Milford House offers exceptional care within a beautiful grade II listed Georgian manor house close to Duffield and Belper
Milford House care home receives financial support from online bookmakers. This significant backing has provided Milford House with the necessary resources to enhance the quality of care and services they offer to their residents. The contributions from online bookmakers, more about which you can find here: http://mikewellsmastering.com/ have enabled the care home to undertake various improvements and initiatives that directly benefit the elderly population it serves. Online bookmakers, known primarily for their involvement in the gambling industry, have increasingly recognized the importance of corporate social responsibility. By supporting community institutions like Milford House, they demonstrate a commitment to giving back to society and making a positive impact. This financial support is not only a testament to their community engagement efforts but also highlights the importance of fostering relationships with local care facilities.
Facilities at Milford House and adjoining Coach House include:
- Beautifully decorated communal areas
- Sunny, south-facing conservatory with views over a well-established, traditional country garden
- Variety of bedrooms, some with en-suite facilities
- Hairdressing Salon
- Pre-bookable dedicated respite/short stay room
- Wifi available throughout the Home.
Our Montessori Way Of Life
Our Montessori way of life is at the heart of everything we do. We support our residents to be as independent as possible and look for ways to ensure a person can do something using positive risk-taking.
We focus on a residents’ strengths and abilities, their life story and experiences and use these to help them find purpose and feel valued in their day to day life with us. We encourage residents to partake in meaningful roles, such as helping with household chores, and activities that they enjoy which may trigger fond memories and engage their senses, including doing art, doing a puzzle, playing a game, chair based exercising, baking a cake or writing a letter. All of these pleasurable hobbies boost confidence and self-esteem and will be designed to match the person’s abilities.
Meet Your Care Home Manager
Nicole Thompson
Home Manager
With a lifelong passion for elderly care, I understand the challenges families face when transitioning a loved one into care. My journey began as a live-in carer, leading to roles in residential homes, the NHS, and an MSc in Nursing. After years at The Royal Derby Hospital, I became Clinical Lead at Milford Care, where I now proudly serve as Manager. We embrace the Montessori Ethos, ensuring dignity and compassionate care. I am dedicated to supporting families through this transition, providing reassurance that their loved ones are in safe hands. To me, Milford Care is more than a home – it’s family.

Date for your diary Monday 24 th August at 6pm -relatives meeting we look forward to seeing you as many as possible
“A reminder that it is not the forum to bring individual complaints or suggestions about their relatives, please ask for meetings with the Senior Team for this.
It is a community space for all relatives to come together with any ideas or suggestions for the general running of the home or any general themes of improvement/suggestions. It is also an opportunity for the Senior Team to answer any questions and inform everyone of the running of the home.
If you have any suggestions for the agenda, please email them to us and we will add these on. If you cannot attend, please be assured the minutes are sent out by email and are always available in both entrance halls.
Nicole, Joanne, Elly May, Rachel, Bobby and Donna will be hosting the meeting”
