A care home shaped by community

Expert care, real connections, true community

At The Meadows, care isn’t just about support—it’s about creating a community filled with warmth, laughter, and real connections. Our long-serving, experienced team is dedicated to providing expert nursing, residential, and dementia care, making every resident feel valued, safe, and empowered.

Rose Court offers round-the-clock nursing care, ensuring nursing and extra care needs are met with skill and compassion. Lavender Court provides a homely, welcoming environment for those needing residential care, where independence is encouraged, and every day feels fulfilling and purposeful.

We believe that meaningful moments matter—whether it’s enjoying a chat over tea, taking part in our book club, or help out with the gardening club. With engaging activities, personalised support, and a true sense of belonging, The Meadows isn’t just a care home – it’s a family built on genuine connections, love and kindness.

Montessori Care – living with purpose, not just being cared for

Traditional care homes often focus on what’s lost—mobility, memory, independence. At our homes, we focus on what’s still possible. Our Montessori-inspired care ensures that residents stay engaged, contribute, and live with purpose, maintaining dignity and confidence in everyday life.

In our jigsaw culture, everyone plays a role in creating a warm, empowering environment—not just carers, but every staff member. That’s why we invest heavily in specialist Montessori training for everyone, ensuring our team has the skills to support residents in ways that truly matter.

Exceptional care isn’t an extra—it’s the standard. Through meaningful activities, positive encouragement, and a focus on strengths and abilities, we help residents thrive, not just be cared for.

It takes more time, skill, and effort. Maybe that’s why other homes don’t copy us. But we know it makes a huge difference, and that’s why we keep doing it.

Meet the Care Home Manager

Rachel Squire

I began my caring career at 19 years old as a care assistant and worked my way up to being a Home Manager over a decade ago. When I found Milford Care in 2023, it was like coming home.

Our ethos and values are so unique, and our passion for what we do makes Milford Care a very special place to be a part of. I love that every day is different at the Meadows, there is a diverse and unique community of people here, and I love to celebrate that.

I thrive in a busy environment with lots to do, and The Meadows is just that! I love to bring positivity and laughter to our home.

Outside of work, I love to keep busy, spending time with my family and singing in a choir based in Belper.
