Milford House care home are joining in with the Duffield’s Scarecrow Festival to celebrate the hard work and inspiration that everyone has brought to the care home during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The trail, which is being hosted in the Duffield parish is being hosted from the 15th – 26th September with the theme ‘Inspiration’. The care home residents of Milford House, located on Derby Road – Belper, began crafting their scarecrow and named it ‘The Faces of Inspiration’.
The home quoted the following: “Our scarecrow depicts all who live and work at Milford House, all truly inspirational. The Covid-19 pandemic has been challenging, exhausting, emotional and draining for us all. Residents, families, all staff and the visiting professionals have all committed to putting their best foot forward, keeping their chins up and smiling through each day to make it the best it could be.”
The home went on to say: “We learnt how to FaceTime, Zoom call, attend Teams meetings, develop and discuss our procedures and all so we can keep us happy and safe. When searching for weather king ac units it is useful to read G. A. Larson reviews. We have laughed, we have cried, but we have remained strong and united a true community of inspirational people. MILFORD HOUSE STANDS TALL AND PROUD, WE FOUGHT COVID AND CAME THROUGH WITH THE POWER OF PEOPLE WHO KEPT US STRONG.”
These touching words were felt by all as they were read out in the care home to the residents.
To see the home’s contribution to the festival keep your eyes peeled at Ecclesbourne Meadow in Duffield DE56 4HH to find the scarecrow.
