When people come to live or stay with us here at Hazelgrove we work hard to ensure that they feel at home.

Our nurses and carers respond sensitively to the individual needs of residents and continually strive for peace of mind, well-being and quality of life for all concerned.

Whether welcoming newcomers to our home, or taking care of residents who are already part of our family, we have their quality of life, contentment and physical comfort at heart.

Activities range from garden centre visits and riverboat trips to keep fit sessions, carpet bowls and singsongs in the lounge. Religious services are held in the dining room, and we are always delighted to host concerts by local schoolchildren for those who would like to take part.

Our most recent addition to the home is a reminiscence lounge which encourages residents, staff and visitors to take a trip down memory lane.

Our home-cooked meals cater for all dietary and cultural needs, with snacks and hot and cold drinks available 24 hours a day. And, just as you would expect at home, family and friends are welcome to join their relative for meals.

“Thank you for looking after my mother so very well. The care you showed [Mum] was exemplary, nothing was ever too much trouble. You took the time to get to know the woman under the dementia and treated her accordingly. You all do an amazing job and certainly deserve to be valued more by society. Once again thank you."

“Thank you for the care and support you gave my husband during his stay with you. I can’t begin to tell you how much your dedication helped [My Husband] feel safe and comfortable and how your friendly banter with him brought smiles and laughter whilst you delivered the care he needed. The warmth you extended to us all during this time was very much appreciated. Once again thank you.”

“I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and my family to thank the nurses, carers, cooks, admin staff, cleaners and the maintenance man for the care and consideration you showed to [My Wife] during the time she spent at Hazelgrove. It was a comfort to us all to know she was in such good hands when we were not there and could not be with her. When we first walked into Hazelgrove there was a good feel about the place and a nice atmosphere and that was always the case. We cannot thank you enough for that, so it only remains for me to wish each and every one of you our very best wishes for now and in the future.”

“We want to express our sincere appreciation to everyone for the excellent care and attention given to our Mum. It has been a great comfort to us that her time with you was so positive and she felt safe and secure. Alzheimer’s is a very difficult disease for the family to cope with, seeing the decline in a person you love so much, but we felt nurtured by you, like our loved one did.”
