When people come to live or stay with us here at Hazelgrove we work hard to ensure that they feel at home.
Our nurses and carers respond sensitively to the individual needs of residents and continually strive for peace of mind, well-being and quality of life for all concerned.
Adding to our reputation for excellent care in the local community, we scored exceptionally well in the most recent Nottinghamshire County Council Quality Audit. We were also awarded a ‘3 star excellent’ quality rating from the Care Quality Commission in their last inspection of the home.

Located at the heart of the Hucknall community, close to shops and other local services, Hazelgrove is purpose-built and set in easily accessible gardens. These include a sheltered patio much enjoyed on a sunny day. We also offer various outdoor activities to further tempt our residents outside into the fresh air and sunshine.

New to our family are three hens – recently introduced in response to an idea that came from a residents’ meeting. There’s nothing quite like the gentle cluckings of the hens as they potter around the lawn – a positive, therapeutic effect well documented in dementia studies. Our little flock also prompts valuable reminiscing, amusement and purposeful pleasure for those who choose to join the egg-collection rota.
“Thank you to all staff at Hazelgrove. You were all so compassionate and so caring to our father. We appreciate that very much. Love to each and every one of you.”

“We want to express our sincere appreciation to everyone for the excellent care and attention given to our Mum. It has been a great comfort to us that her time with you was so positive and she felt safe and secure. Alzheimer’s is a very difficult disease for the family to cope with, seeing the decline in a person you love so much, but we felt nurtured by you, like our loved one did.”

“As far as we are concerned your carers deserve a medal. This work can be exhausting. You need lots of energy, patience, understanding and compassion. Thank you for your devotion in your work – you truly are special people ‘Angels from Heaven’. Your dedication has helped keep our faith in human nature in these difficult times.”
